A wonderfully characterful early 20th-century oak writing bureau, with a traditional panelled fall front above three graduated drawers and elegant turned legs.

Carefully stripped back from its original dark finish to reveal the natural oak beneath, the timber now has a beautifully warm, mellow tone with plenty of visible grain and variation. The lighter finish gives the piece a much softer, more relaxed feel while retaining all of its original period character.

The fall front opens to provide a useful writing surface and concealed interior storage, while the three full-width drawers below offer plenty of practical space. Original Brass handles, panelled detailing and the turned legs give the bureau a lovely sense of craftsmanship without feeling overly formal.

A particularly handsome piece for a hallway, sitting room, bedroom or home office, combining useful storage with the charm of a traditional writing desk.

As with all of our antique and vintage furniture, age-related marks, variations in the timber and signs of previous use are to be expected and form part of the individual character and history of the piece.

Please note: The wood is in its raw, unfinished state, with no varnish or protective finish applied. The first image is AI-generated for illustrative purposes only, to show how the piece might look in a room setting.
