This beautifully restored Mellowcraft carved oak chest, dating from around the mid-20th century (circa 1940s–1960s), is a striking example of quality English craftsmanship inspired by earlier Tudor and Jacobean designs.
The chest is made from solid oak and features a deeply carved front panel with traditional foliate motifs, complemented by its original iron strap hinges and a smooth, hand-rubbed satin finish that brings out the warm tones and grain of the wood. It has been professionally stripped and sanded, revealing the natural beauty of the oak while preserving its vintage character.
