This Victorian Oak Coffer is a solid and characterful piece, displaying restrained Gothic-influenced detailing typical of the late 19th century. The front is divided into panelled sections with vertical carved decoration, lending depth and architectural interest to the façade.
 
Constructed from solid oak, the hinged lid opens to reveal generous interior storage. The surface shows a well-established patina with visible grain and honest signs of age, consistent with its period.
The piece has historic woodworm to the front left leg, which does not affect structural integrity but is reflected in the price. Aside from this, the blanket box is in good overall condition for its age. It is a heavy, robust piece with excellent presence.
