This early 20th century oak chest of drawers is of clean, practical design, typical of Edwardian country furniture. The piece comprises three full-width graduating drawers set within a solid oak frame, while the drawer fronts are solid oak and the top and sides are finished in well-matched oak veneer — a traditional construction method of the period allowing for an even, attractive grain.
Raised on straight square supports and finished with a gently shaped back rail, the chest retains a restrained and well-balanced appearance. It has been carefully stripped and sympathetically restored, revealing the natural warmth and character of the timber and presenting with a lighter, refined country-house feel.
The drawers will be fitted with classic brass ring pull handles mounted on decorative backplates, complementing the age and style of the piece. A solid and versatile chest, restored and ready for use in a bedroom, guest room, or hallway setting.
